Told’s inaugural event at Visible Voice Books was a huge success. Wine and conversations flowed; stories were told and heard. Special thanks to all our storytellers, especially featured tellers Scott Hurley and Jill Grunenwald. Visible Voice was a gracious host, keeping spirits at the ready and providing a warm room for the friendly audience.
Stories of would-be cartographers, circumcenters, awkward college improve groups, and embarrassed Peruvians were a hit. Tales of broken souls, teenage dating, and harrowing times in a prison library held the room in rapt attention. Even more yarns were spun for hours after, as audience members recalled moments of verbal blunder or triumph over pints in various Tremont establishments. A great success, indeed.
Thank you to all who came out and shared in story or attention.
You know you told a good story when you’re leaving the event & walking to your car and one of the attendees shouts “Night, Gangsta!” #told1
